A Wildflower

dandelions

You were there, I saw you standing in the back

Against the wall hoping not to be seen

A beauty within, hidden behind self doubt

Holding before you a mirror painted with judgement and fear

You were there, I saw you standing in the back

Your kindled light burned deep, forging tiny cracks

The dark subsided giving way to a raging ravine

From a tiny seed wildflowers began to sprout

You were there, I saw you standing in the back

Shattered glass on the floor your reflection now so clear

Watching the world go by no more

A burned outline where you once stood

I am here because you were always there…….
