Where am I?

on

Where am I?

Swift winds of change are swirling all around me

Sorting through boxes filled with all of my yesterdays

Purging the past to make room for my tomorrows

Memories stored on paper to remind me of the love I was given

Captured smiles in shared moments

Where am I?

Unfamiliar territory littered by trails of those before me

Moving through life as turbulent waves swell and roll forward

Losing sight of the horizon til the calm returns

I reset my sails to put me back on course

Battered but still strong I moor to a beam of light ahead

Filling more empty boxes to see where I’ve been

Where am I?

Rainbows draw my attention now

I know they will come so I sit and wait

Letting the cold rains wash my tears away

Changing chills warm as the clouds part for clear skies

Life is still waiting to be embraced

Where am I today?

I’m right where I belong

Grateful for this moment of breath I take

Ahead of my yesterday that hurt

Ready for the tomorrows to come

Wiser for the lessons taught

I am in the here and now

Taking the good and bad

Appreciating the life given to live

Accepting the love above the hate

“She’s blowing a gale today, batten down the hatches and lean into the wind. This storm will pass and tomorrow we can go fishing.” Quote by Robert M. Fisler

What a beautifully written poem. It can take someone to many places, actually, and that is one thing I believe creating something is all about…to take the reader on a journey uniquely their own. Take good care.
