slumber comes slow
wrapping like a soft blanket
images flicker into view
worries of tomorrow
replaying yesterday
fears and wishes meshed
emotions spur to life
night still lingers
but sleep does not
yearning to keep a warm feeling
or calm an electric tremble
hoping for dreams of comfort
or no dreams at all
longing to stay cocooned
as light touches the world
feet stand in the sparkling beams
leaving all dreams where they lay
until the mind and heart
once again
return to their infinite journey
and love affair
It is all about feelings and where the mind goes as we drift into slumber. I love this poem. Thank you.

Funny how the ind works. Sometimes our thoughts make sleep a challenge. You depicted those quiet moments falling alseep so perfectly.

Sleep is very like being cocooned I think.
