Rivers

on

Rivers run swift with no pause or fear

Current carrying debris into the watery abyss

Sun rays shower diamonds towards shore

Moon beams illuminate sleeping beauty

Gliding wings feed on its generous bounty

Sustaining life to feet foraging the muddy banks

Gentle messages ripple across its skin

Racing winds churn the smooth surface

Ebbing tides expose treasured secrets

Ancient veins nourish each and all

Wise and old are the droplets that quench

A legacy of tender and fierce

Giver and taker of souls

Respect is commanded

…or suffer the consequence

Lovely poem, and wonderful photos, too. Yes, rivers are wonderful and amazing–and often taken for granted.
