Whispering vines

on

Whispering lies no one hears but you

hiding behind smiling eyes

waiting for you to believe.

Seeds planted at birth

nourished while you grew

life choked off by strangling vines.

As a canopy spread over delicate leaves

wilting growth reached for speckled light

finding its way through.

Collected strength safely hidden

within a protected core

burst free from the confines.

Deeply rooted and coiled beyond sight

disguising itself of any signs

to reap what it has sown.

Surrounded by luminous beauty

opaque spots begin to appear.

Seeping into the soil from which

all good has flourished and bloomed

…a whisper that is well known.
