Early morn
in gray daylight
stillness awakens
Through the timber
and across the lake
Haunting loon cries call
ravens begin to echo warn
soft ripple reach for shore
Tall pine dipped in gold
cascading down
penetrating darkness’s cover
Small birds rustle
hunger drives life to emerge
Like a gently shaken globe
the woods hold my attention
Petals of color open
with offers of collected quench
Soft winds run through the trees
calling my name
Crooning hushed lullabies
soothing a needing soul
Replenished of all sins
another day begins
Sounds like a wondrous, peaceful beginning to another special day.
